Faisalabad, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Javaid R Laghari has urged the agricultural scientists to execute high quality research in order to catering to the food requirements of increasing population. He was addressing the concluding session of an international seminar on “Crop Management” organized by the Department of Agronomy University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) at New Senate Hall here Friday.
The HEC Chairman HEC that Pakistan is striving hard to face the challenges of modernization and increasing population supposed to further aggravate the situation as the population of Pakistan will double by 2050 with the addition of 350 million people. He said that 95 percent researches across the globe came from the West 20 years ago, but now the trend is changing and the East is beating the West in the field of research. He congratulated the UAF for producing 314 research papers in a year as it is one of the best Universities of the county. He also congratulated for increasing the number of research papers.
