Maruti Suzuki India Ltd is known among its customers to provide best economy cars and it seems they are planning to raise their standards by launching the new model of Swift by next month. In India, Swift is one of the most sold premium cars.
According to sources, the new model of Swift has been made, considering the rise in oil prices as it would be more fuel efficient, giving customers a choice to choose from 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel modification.
This was just a beginning to bring smiles on the customers face as the new model would have more space due to its increased length and would provide better mileage. One need not worry with its increased size as engineers have reduced its overall weight by using a plastic tank. And, for this facility Maruti tied up with the world’s largest manufacturer of plastic fuel tanks known as France’s Plastic Omnium.
Maruti is in plans to offer a four-speed automatic transmission option in the petrol version. Maruti Suzuki India Chief General Manager (Marketing) Shashank Srivastava said, “As market leader, we have continuously improved our technologies over the years”.
The launch of Swift would take place at Maruti’s Manesar plant in Haryana and for now price of the car has not been disclosed by the company. It is also planning to launch a new Swift Dzire, at a much cheaper rate by 2012.
